Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away so it’s time to start thinking about doing something special to say thank you to those amazing women in our lives. Ottawa Maternity and Newborn Photographer Meets Alex

It’s such an honour for me to be asked to capture the most amazing moments in someone’s life. Whether it’s a wedding, the wonder of pregnancy or falling completely, head-over-heals in love with a new baby, being able to freeze moments in time so when there are tougher days ahead in your marriage or battling toddler tantrums, you can look at the images and feel the same wave of love of you felt then and get strength from it – that to me is a priceless gift and the power of amazing photography.  I recently had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful mom-to-be and a few weeks later, her beautiful baby girl. Meet Ishaan! At four weeks he was very alert. We couldn’t get him to curl up (already liked to stretch his legs out!) or stay asleep for very long. He was much too intrigued by what was going on around him with strobes flashing and camera shutters clicking away. What I love about a newborn portrait session is the unpredictability. Already, this tiny baby has a personality so there’s no such thing a cookie cutter posing! Not only that, but capturing the expressions of new parents who have just fallen madly in love with their child leaves me speechless every time. I get choked up just thinking about it! Love, love, love new babes…
