Ottawa Wildlife Photographer Receives PPOC Animal Portrait Accreditation

I got my certificate in the mail today – my 9th PPOC Accreditation! This time in the Animal Portrait Category. I’m thrilled as I am a huge animal lover – both wild and domestic. On a bittersweet note, one of the images submitted was of my beautiful Himalayan/Siamese cross, Asha. Today I took her to the vet after she got very sick from kidney disease and had to say goodbye. I’m so thankful I have this photo (as well as quite a few more). It’s only when they are gone that we realize the huge place they had in our hearts. There is nothing like the unconditional love of a pet. I will miss her pawing me for attention and purring non-stop when she was near me. Another photo is of our dog Rio when he was a puppy last year. Like babies, they grow and change quickly so I did a fun ‘newborn’ shoot with him that you can check out here. The others are of animals I saw on farms, in parks and zoos or in the wild. I love watching their behaviour and trying to anticipate a moment worth capturing. If you have a fur baby (or babies) that you would like me to photograph, please contact me. I would love to help you preserve some wonderful memories.
