Last Tuesday, I participated in James Hodgins’ Wedding Photography Workshop offered through the Professional Photographers of Ontario association I belong to. It’s always great to meet fellow photographers and share ideas and learn their tricks of the trade. James Hodgins is from my hometown of Sudbury and he has made quite a name for himself in the biz — check out his site to see why (www.hodginsphotography.com). One technique he taught us was how to use off-camera flash in a creative way. You’ll see from my samples how this gives the image an edgy ‘fashion’ look that can work not only for wedding portraits but engagement and teen shots as well. I can’t wait to use this on my next shoot!
